Hi, I’m Dr Nesrine Nasseur, a HCPC-registered clinical psychologist interested in trauma-informed care, culturally sensitive therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and mindfulness. Originally from Algeria, my family moved to the UK when I was three, during the Algerian Civil War. Growing up in London exposed me to a blend of diverse cultural experiences, which I feel fortunate to have connected with deeply.
In my practice, I combine professional expertise with a personal understanding of the cultural and intergenerational challenges many clients face, particularly within racially minoritised communities. With additional training in EMDR and systemic working, I support
clients in breaking cycles of trauma, building resilience, and navigating complex family and personal dynamics. Rooted in compassion and integrity, I hope to create a safe space where my clients feel seen, heard and empowered. Fluent in French and Algerian Arabic, I am also keen to make therapy accessible across different languages.

Mindfulness:
I completed a MSc in mindfulnesss: Neuroscience and clinical applications in 2014 and have applied these principles to my work in the NHS since. -
I’m continually inspired by the resilience of those who navigate intergenerational trauma, cultural identity and mental health. Figures like Frantz Fanon and Algeria’s ancient healing practices remind me of the strength in our histories, motivating me to help clients reconnect with their roots and resilience in their healing journeys.

I’m passionate about mindfulness and enjoy exploring practices that blend traditional and contemporary techniques. Outside of work, I have recently discovered that I like writing poetry, I love horse riding, and going to the gym, where I find balance and energy.
